Better light to the elderly

OPI PROJECT

It was the users that were at the centre when Lightcare participated in the public/private innovative project in the municipality of Albertslund. A co-operation between elder users, research environment SBI & DTU Fotonik, PlanC, Gate21, and contractor MT Højgaard a/s.

The idea behind the project was to develop a new “State of the Art” energy saving, lighting technical solution, in which especially the elderly citizens got an experience of quality, comfort, life quality, user-friendly, and generally a good and healthy indoor climate. The reduction of CO2-emission was high on the agenda. With the newest LED technology combined with intelligent controlling systems it was possible to obtain savings >70%.

The project is the reason for the full dynamic circadian lighting in the nursing home Albertshøj in the municipality of Albertslund.
