9th October 2018 - Visit us at 'Danish Medico Technical Association'
Come and meet us at Dansk Medicoteknisk Selskab (Danish Medico Technical Association) National Assembly 9-11. October at VINGSTED Hotel & Conference Center, where we display our unique lighting control LIGHTCARE OS, 24-hour rhythm circadian lighting and ergonomic work light.
July 2018 LIGHT to fight Alzheimer's
DTU and Berkeley University are currently testing a newly developed light. By using red and green diodes and a certain frequency on the light, a new hope is given for the future in the fight against Alzheimer's.
June 2018 Region of Southern Denmark happy about circadian rhythm lighting
We are proud to have contributed with circadian rhythm lighting to the newly established and super modern Intensive department at Sønderborg Hospital.
In collaboration with the technical department, we installed our open control system LIGHTCARE OS which enables the technical department to perform service and maintenance to the entire lighting installation
May 2018 LIGHTCARE and MusiCure collaborate on sensory room
A warm thank you goes out to MusiCure, Niels and Inge Mulvad Eje, dnp-screens, Thomas Hansen and others. to help create a STATE-OF-THE-ART, NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL STIMULI ROOM.
Last and not least a big thank you to Kathrin Terkelsen, Line Mathiasen, Margit Madsen, Billund Municipality and Aalborg Municipality for confidence in us.
The Nobel Prize in Medicine 2017 goes to three circadian rhythm researchers
Science has for many years been familiar with the concept of circadian rhythm in connection with the body's functions.
In 2017, this concept was recognized at the most renowned level, as the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young for the discovery of "the molecular mechanisms that control the circadian rhythm".

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What is full dynamic circadian lighting?
Full dynamic circadian lighting is a validated light programme, which follows the natural circadian rhythm. When our bodies follow a natural circadian rhythm, we experience a better sleep, increased energy level and existence. The development of LED technology makes it possible to programme different coloured lighting scenarios which can be operated from a user-friendly system. The full dynamic circadian lighting can take as one's starting point the different chronotypes and follow a series of fixed scenarios, that can be relevant in several connections including light which works e.g. calming or increasing the activity level.
What is healthcare light?
Healthcare light is specially adjusted fixed lighting scenarios that are developed in co-operation with the users. The functions are typically based on individual working areas and preferences from individual users. We have among other things developed lighting to use during surgery in coloured lighting in red, green, and blue shades. We have developed functions for venflon and work by screens or scanning rooms, where the light helps enhance structures and minimize the risk of mistakes. The light helps several places to create better working conditions because the staff experience less fatigue in the eyes and thereby a better opportunity to maintain concentration.
What is therapeutic light?
Therapeutic light consists primarily of light-boost in the short wavy blue spectral range equivalent to daylight. Therapy light helps prevent Seasonal Affective Disorder and is also used in connection with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Therapeutic light can give a better light when elderly people read because of a high level of intensity and colour rendering it makes it easier to see the structures.
What is tunable white light?
Tunable white light is light varying in different white colour temperatures or kelvin. Solutions from LIGHTCARE include colours from the whole colour spectrum. It makes us able to deliver solutions fitted to specific needs with higher quality.
LIGHTCARE offers a solution with a cost-effective system which puts our customers in cable of offering the day light inside without going on compromise with the quality of light or design of luminaries.
Tunable white is a healthier and better light.
Which benefits does LIGHTCARE provide?
From delivered projects we have established different tendencies among, employees, patients/citizens and employers as listed below.

OPI PROJECT
- PUBLIC/PRIVATE COLLABORATION
NURSING HOME IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SILKEBORG
The pilot project consisted of the making of “The nursing home of the future”. Full dynamic circadian lighting was a part of the project with circadian stimulating lighting, work specific scenarios and emergency lighting with a call service. The purpose was here to create a solution that stimulates the elderly´s circadian rhythm based on individual needs including any sleeping problems and visual impairment with a wide selection of products that creates homely and calm surroundings.
BETTER LIGHTING FOR THE ELDERLY
The idea behind the project was to develop new “State of the Art”, energy efficient, lighting technical solutions which combined give especially the elderly citizens an experience of quality, comfort, life quality, user-friendly and generally a good and healthy indoor climate
PULSE LAMP
Spring 2013 Glostrup National Hospital took the initiative to develop a bedside lamp with circadian lighting and inspection light. The bedside lamp had to turn on with circadian lighting but could also switch to white inspection light in connection to the staff´s supervision of the patient and e.g. insertion of a catheter.

DNP LASERPANEL DELIVERS STATE-OF-THE-ART VISUAL THERAPY
The Municipality of Billund, Denmark, wanted to use light and images to promote mental health and speed recovery in its new sensory therapy room. The call was for a state-of-the-art solution, and LIGHTCARE responded by incorporating a cost-effective, high-contrast dnp LaserPanel solution in this - our Installation of the Month.

Inavate
An important part of the future lighting will be software development and the integration of the light into the building automation. The goal is intelligent light that both meets our biological needs and optimizes workflows, safety, and well-being in the healthcare sector.

Our new healthcare sector
INTELLIGENT LIGHTING BENEFIT BOTH STAFF AND PATIENTS
Working shifts in the healthcare sector often gives the staff sleeping problems, just as many patients get too little or wrong lighting. By considering the light as a part of the working climate, problems can be reduced severely.

HORSENS – LIGHTCARE, situated in Horsens, delivers as the first firm in the world full dynamic circadian lighting to hospitals and nursing homes, where patients and demented works better because they get the right light at the right time of the day. In hospitals is it about the dynamic lighting as an optimal lighting for both the surgeons in the operation rooms as well as patients at psychiatric units, where light is a part of the treatment. In nursing homes demented people tend to turn the circadian rhythm upside down, but with the right light at the right time they can return to the proper circadian rhythm. Internationally there has been done research in dynamic circadian lighting, but Lightcare is the first in the world – in co-operation with scientists – to put theory into practise with full coloured LED controlled lights in hospitals and nursing homes.
